New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2013: Top trends: Keep Accessories To a Minimum And Let The Print Shine - GO BOLD OR GO HOME!

ORANGE

Bright, bold and everywhere we looked, brilliant orange was the colour of choice in NYC. Clockwise from top left: Victoria Beckham, Carolina Herrera, Alice + Olivia and Peter Som.

MUTED FLORALS

Muted florals found their way down the New York runways; designers kept their patterns sweet and subtle.
Clockwise from top left: Costello, Suno, Tracy Reese and Peter Som.

WHITE SHIRTS

Crisp white shirts littered the spring/summer catwalks. From Alexander Wang's surgical creations to Victoria's grown-up classics, this trend will take you effortlessly from day to night.
Clockwise from top left: Edun, Victoria Beckham, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang and Lacoste.

STRIPES

Stripes went both ways, and in all colors, in New York.
Clockwise from top left: J.Crew, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors.

MIDRIFFS

We hope it'll be warm enough to rock this trend: look out for bare midriffs in spring/summer.
Clockwise from top left: Edun, Band Of Outsiders, Rag & Bone, Charlotte Ronson, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang and Jill Stuart.

FLAT SHOES

Walking the runway was that much easier in New York this week, thanks to an abundance of beautiful flats.
Clockwise from top left: Carolina Herrera, Ruffian, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch and Victoria Beckham.

BASEBALL CAPS

From Alexander Wang's super-shiny visor-style to DKNY's crisp cotton versions, the baseball cap is the ultimate nonchalant accessory. Chose your fabric and scream 'ghetto fabulous' or 'slightly sporty'.
Clockwise from top left: Alexander Wang, J.Crew, DKNY, Jeremy Scott, Solange Knowles.

NATURAL LOOKING MAKEUP - "Men always say women look sexiest on Sundays," says makeup artist Beau Nelson; Guys like things simple, God bless 'em!

Nelson's best mysterious tricks, perfect for luring your guy in even further

Eyes: Sweep a medium-brown matte shadow (for dark skin, use a chocolate hue) on your lids, then skim what's left on your brush under your bottom lashes. For a little more oomph, line your top lashes with a brown pencil. Keep lashes subtle and natural.

Cheeks: Glow "naturally" (wink, wink) by rubbing a shimmer-free rosy--or, for dark skin, reddish--cream blush on your apples, and be sure to really blend it in.

Lips: To get that healthy, believable rosebud color, apply a stain that's a shade or two deeper than your lips' natural color, and he'll think you were born perfect.
